Spray foam insulation is a polyurethane foam that is sprayed onto the surfaces of your walls and ceilings, where it then sticks, expands and hardens. While it has a higher initial cost than other insulating materials, it has a number of side benefits and has proven itself to be far and away the most efficient and effective insulator on the market.

MIKE HOLMES: Closed-cell spray foam tops insulation options
Different insulation will work best for different jobs, but there’s one product that has proven itself consistently on every job where I’ve used it: closed-cell spray foam. For me, there’s nothing better. It does what good insulation is supposed to do.
